The Independence Day Special is a limited-time Update for Grand Theft Auto Online returning for the July 4th 2017 weekend and following week (through July 10).

Celebrating the "birthday" of the United States, Independence Day special content has been a long-running tradition in GTA Online, since they first launched the event in 2014. New additions to the 4th of July content include:

Patriotic Liveries & Weapon Skins

Available for your Mobile Operations Center and upgradeable weapons included in the Gunrunning update, these patriotic paint schemes may cost a little extra but are well worth it to show your love of country.

Fireworks

Fireworks may be purchased at AmmuNation. They come in three colors: red, white and blue, and in four styles. A player may carry up to ten Fireworks at once. Fireworks are placed in open areas via the interaction menu. Characters may place multiple fireworks, and then detonate them via remote command. Fireworks may also be set to timers for sequencing.

Liberator Monster Truck

The Liberator is a 4x4 truck that is nigh-invulnerable, driving over most cars and obstacles with ease. It also had tremendous grip in climbs and can scale mountains with tremendous ease, making it an ideal exploratory Vehicle. The only downside is that the vehicle CANNOT be modded at Los Santos Customs meaning any damage it takes is permanent!

The Liberator is also available in single-player through Garages. The Liberator is a novelty Vehicle delivered through Pegasus. It typically spawns just outside Fort Zancudo after a delivery request.

Western Sovereign Motorcycle

A fast, well-handling American-flag themed Sovereign motorcycle is now available for sale online and for free in single-player.

The bike bears more than a passing resemblance to Captain America's Easy Rider motorcycle. 

FireWorks Rocket Launcher & Musket

The Fireworks Rocket Launcher is a single-rocket weapon that can fire lethal rounds along with an explosion of color. Unlike regular rockets, the Fireworks rounds explode upon impact but do not cause damage to vehicles for several seconds (but they will explode eventually).

In addition to the Fireworks launcher, a single-shot musket is available in the Independence Day Special. The Musket is extremely powerful, but requires several seconds to reload.

Seventeen new Jobs are available in GTA Online though the Independence Day Special.

• Road Tripping
• Swamp Monster
• Tour the Lake
• We Have Lift-off

Other Changes

• Several new single-house Properties are introduced in the Independence Day Special.
• The Ferris Wheel and Roller Coaster along the Los Santos pier are now open to be ridden.
• Mullets are available as haircuts
• Los Santos Customs also has two new available mods: Star Spangled Banner horn sounds (x4) and Star Spangled Tire Smoke (combo of red, white, and blue smoke).
