Due to lack of coordination between pushing and relaxing to release poop. Most places say few weeks, saw some say few months. Just curious about your experiences. Ours is still struggling. • jJLT82 Posted 01-28-19My LO had it and it got better around 4 months. When I knew he had to go, I used to have to take off his diaper, massage his belly, and pump his legs to help him. He was never constipated, but just needed help pushing it out. He's 5 months old today and doesn't really have those issues anymore.

Sometimes I'd put a paper towel over him so he wouldn't get me or his clothes wet, but it didn't always work. I put baby oil on my hands and do the "I love you" massage on his belly: https://youtu.be/Fcn6gVX5y4IOpens a new windowI'd do the bicycle pump with his legs, but then I would also press both legs up into the squatting position. I had to hold his legs like that while he pooped. He rarely pooped in his diaper his first 3 months. It wasn't fun for me, but at least it gave him relief!See all replies (2)

My LO just hit 3 months today and we just finished a diaper free poop session and he too has barely gone in his diaper bc he needs help. Praying he figures it all out in the next month! Did you do any tho g for it or did it naturally go away by 4 months?
