In children, gastrointestinal symptoms include diarrhoea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.Influenza is associated with a higher risk of complications, which may include:

- Worsening of chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes or heart failure
How do we contract Influenza?
Influenza is spread through the air by coughing and sneezing. Less often, a person might also get the flu by touching a surface or object that has flu virus on it and then touching their own mouth or nose.
How to prevent Influenza (Influenza vaccination)?
Influenza can be prevented by a flu vaccination (e.g., Fluarix, FluQuadri). There are three main classes of influenza (A, B and C).Vaccines are produced every 6 months (northern and southern hemisphere) to prevent infection from the most common subtypes occurring in the last 6 months. The latest influenza vaccine offers protection against the most recent influenza viruses.Cross Street Medical has the latest influenza vaccines.
