When Spotify acquired the exclusive streaming rights to his immensely popular podcast for over $200 million, we knew it was only a matter of time before UFC commentator/comedian/DMT enthusiast — Joe Rogan — made a few lifestyle changes improvements. Given the concerns he’d been voicing about LA, we knew it was also only a matter of time before Joe Rogan led the exodus from the Sunshine State and moved into a mansion nestled within the very heart of Texas (2918 Oestrick Ln, Austin to be exact).

Representing one of the largest property transactions in the area’s history, the former Fear Factor host’s lakefront estate sprawls across a considerable 10,890 square feet of land — complete with two living rooms, eight bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and plenty of backyard space to squeeze in some sprints with family golden retriever, Marshall Mae. That and to light up a blunt, stare at the night sky — free of city light and pollution — before asking, “What’s this really about, mahn?”

By all accounts, the ‘hood is quite a desirable one. It’s tucked away from the chaos of the city without being distant enough to pose an inconvenience, flanked by other similarly impressive properties where the likes of billionaire John Paul DeJoria and Sandra Bullock reside — and once you have a quick glance at the pad for yourself, you’ll immediately come to realise the real selling points (as well as question whether this is really where Joe Rogan lives, given the lack of deer taxidermies and camouflage print).

As this off-market purchase was accomplished on the down-low, specific details beyond the basics have been fairly hard to come by. All we know for certain is what has previously been divulged through its online footprint, tax records, and of course, the ever-faithful visual confirmations courtesy of the lovely pictures we’ve sourced for this article.

From what we’ve been told/can see/have extrapolated, there doesn’t appear to be a gym with sparring mats, punching bags, or a kettlebell rack. Yet. Let’s just assume that’s coming. Nor is there a steam or sauna room. Again, yet. No doubt, Rogan will add it to the wishlist, which includes a ranch, a performance auditorium — though not a podcast studio for The Joe Rogan Experience; that renowned hub of overwhelming intellect is located off-site — plus a gun range. There is, however, an idyllic pool around the back, complemented by an equally idyllic deck by the lake.

The interior has reportedly undergone a relatively recent revamp by the previous owners — architectural designer Benjamin Wood and philanthropist wife Theresa Castellano Wood. Where Rogan’s mansion once boasted of a “faux-Mediterranean flair,” it now showcases a more tasteful “Texas-inspired modern farmhouse” aesthetic with just a hint of Mediterranean and Asian influences. All in all… surprisingly tasteful.
