Iron Golems can be found all throughout the world in every biome. They’re commonly found protecting villages and at Pillager Outposts, where they are captured in a cage. If you free the captured Iron Golem, it’ll attack the pillagers with you.

You can also make an iron golem by making four iron blocks, which comes out to thirty-six iron ingots. Once you have the four iron blocks, you’ll need to place them in a T shape with one up and three across. After that, get a carved pumpkin and place it in the middle and the golem will be born. The T shape needed to build an iron golem is shown below.
Quick Tips and Facts
- Iron Golems will send whatever they hit flying in the air, often causing them to take fall damage.
- Creepers are the only hostile mob that an Iron Golem won’t attack.
- Iron Golems are known to give poppies to villagers.
- Iron Golems avoid cactus, lava, and fire.
- Iron Golems can not drown or take fall damage.
- If you do make an iron golem, make sure wherever you build it that it can’t escape, because iron golems like to wander, and it’s common for them to get lost.
