yes i talked to ellie but i just get the filler diolouge and when i try to go to the Nakano residence i says "you cant go that way" #2 Bored Peon View Profile View Posts 25 Oct, 2019 @ 5:29pm Pretty sure you can go there without Nick.I think you kinda screwed yourself by talking to Ellie though. You have to go rescue Nick then you should be able to go there without him.Worst case scenario dump Nick at the docks once you get there.I did Far Harbor without Nick first. The next time through I brought Nick along and the "additional content" with him there was really disappointing. #3 Capn_Tucker View Profile View Posts 25 Oct, 2019 @ 6:23pm

Just go northeast until you're on the beach. Follow it north until you get to Nakano's house. Don't need Nick to go there; been there plenty of times with other companions. I think the first time was when Scribe Haylen sent me to retrieve a piece of tech that was located in Far Harbor.. #4 AsSaSs1n View Profile View Posts 25 Oct, 2019 @ 6:56pm

If I remember right after rescuing Nick you need to exit Diamond City and go out near where Cricket is by the gate. Then that will start the Far Harbor. #6 Grendalcat View Profile View Posts 25 Oct, 2019 @ 7:01pm

You can't just walk along the shoreline until reaching the Nakano house? Just walk on the beach past those ghouls, going NE until the beach curves north again. Not through the hills though, that's where I've run into the "you can't go that way" message. Last edited by Grendalcat; 25 Oct, 2019 @ 7:02pm #7 Flippy View Profile View Posts 25 Oct, 2019 @ 7:04pm

I had same problem recently when trying a new mod out, Summertime Overhaul. So sounds like a mod is over writing the area and putting the none DLC border back. #8 AsSaSs1n View Profile View Posts 25 Oct, 2019 @ 7:05pm

any idea what kind of mods would do that? #10 White Knight View Profile View Posts 26 Oct, 2019 @ 1:11am In my current playthrough, I had Piper with me when I first spoke to Ellie about it. I went there later but turned back at the Nakano's porch...I realized I really, really didn't want to go to Far Harbour. The first time I did it, I didn't have Nick Valentine with me either. He has nothing to do with it, except for some expanded dialogue options. When you follow the beach, there's no problem. When you climb in the rocks you get the "You can't go that way" warning. I've never seen the beach path blocked at any point. Not sure what your issue might be, but it has nothing to do with your companion. Last edited by White Knight; 26 Oct, 2019 @ 1:13am #11 neddy3135 View Profile View Posts 26 Oct, 2019 @ 1:38am

As for getting to the Nakano residence , I had the same problem . I fixed it by installing the mod''Mo Borders'' (on Nexus) . Also works for the Nuka-World DLC . It's definately a mod issue I haven't been able to sort out , and while ''No borders'' still works so I'm in no hurry to find out . The "can't go there" is just you hitting the map edge, same as any map edge. Just skirt the map edge. You have to get nearly into the surf at points. #13 Humpenstilzchen View Profile View Posts 26 Oct, 2019 @ 5:40pm

Absolutely, I can confirm this. I stumbled upon this accidently by making the quests for knight rhys of the brotherhood before even rescuing nick. So he basically sent me to clean the national park in far harbour and the quest marker led me to the nakano residence which started the quest to rescue their daughter. #14 The Inept European View Profile View Posts 26 Oct, 2019 @ 9:38pm You can just walk up cold to the Nakano house, with no quest active, engage them in conversation and the story starts. You might even be able to ignore them completely and just go get the boat if you know where to look for the boat keys etc. I haven't tried that. #15 < > Showing 1-15 of 17 comments Per page: 1530 50 Fallout 4 > General Discussions > Topic Details Date Posted: 25 Oct, 2019 @ 3:56pmPosts: 17 Discussions Rules and Guidelines Close
