Is SiriusXM Free Right Now? Updated March, 2022 - Consumer Press

SiriusXM isn’t free right now, but they are running two specials that make it pretty darn cheap.

The first offer is a three month trial subscription for $1.

This trial includes their Music & Entertainment plan.

After the first three months, you can continue on this plan for $7.95/month with streaming through their app (only), or streaming through both the app and in the car for $17.95/month.

The second deal they have right now includes a year of SiriusXM’s Platinum plan, which can be used both through the SiriusXM app and in your car, for $60.

With this deal, you also get a free 4th generation Amazon Echo Dot with Alexa as a bonus. The 4th generation Amazon Echo Dot currently sells on Amazon for $49.99.

At the end of the year long subscription, your subscription will automatically downgrade and renew to the Music & Entertainment plan (currently $17.99/month).

If you want to continue on the Platinum plan, you would need to request an upgrade through SiriusXM. The Platinum plan currently costs $22.99/month.

Both deals can be cancelled to avoid a renewell at the end of the deal (within 12 months, in this case).

If you are cancelling your subscription, be aware that SiriusXM requires that you do so at least 7 days before your renewal date.

The channels on the Platinum plan include ad-free music; artist-created channels; talk shows, podcasts, comedy and news channels; two Howard Stern channels (with video); sports (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR and sports talk shows); the ability to create custom Pandora stations; and the SiriusXM video library of in-studio shows and performances.

The Music & Entertainment plan includes curated ad-free music; artist-created music channels; sports talk and analysis; plus comedy, talk, and news channels. It does not include live NFL, MLB, and NBA games.

The SXM app can cast to connected home devices like Amazon Alexa speakers (including the Dot), Google Nest, Sonos speakers, Apple TV and more.

The deals are available through the SiruisXM homepage.

SiriusXM has not said how long these offers will last.

CP Savvy Consumer Tip – if you decide to sign up for the trial, set a reminder on your Google Calendar/Apple Calendar to remind yourself two weeks ahead of time of when the trial period ends. Then you can make a conscious decision on whether to continue the subscription after the trial period ends.
