Though largely overlooked by audiences and critics when it was first released, The Big Lebowski has become a cult favorite and is regarded as one of the best movies of the 1990s. Jeff Bridges delivers an iconic comedic performance in the main role as Jeff "The Dude" Lebowski, a middle-aged stoner in early '90s California who is roped into a case of mistaken identity as well as a missing person case. The film's star-studded cast also includes John Goodman, Julianne Moore, Steve Buscemi, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and John Turturro.

Despite the fact that The Big Lebowski is nearly three decades old, its legacy lives on today through its fans who’ve dedicated everything from festivals (the annual, aptly titled Lebowski Fest) to bars (in Reykjavik, Glasgow, and Edinburgh) in honor of their favorite movie. It’s even spawned its own religion with The Church of the Latter-Day Dude. It also remains an endlessly rewatchable movie, with its jokes and sense of humor aging wonderfully.
