Hi, I'm using this game for language learning and would like to sometimes pause the game during a conversation with a npc so I can look things up or write down new words. How can I do that? < > Showing 1-11 of 11 comments Fuffy View Profile View Posts 7 Jul, 2019 @ 1:05pm Easily, just don´t click your LMB. The game stops the conversation during every speech bubble, so you have full control when to continue. #1 t9 View Profile View Posts 7 Jul, 2019 @ 2:14pm 2 1 3 The game pauses:- during conversation- reading mail- opened backpack- reading journal- buying menuYou can stay in these menus as long as u want #2 Clovis Sangrail View Profile View Posts 8 Jul, 2019 @ 3:55pm Unless you are playing multiplayer, in which case it just keeps moving along. #3 Konijnopijs View Profile View Posts 9 Jul, 2019 @ 7:25am

Mmm, for some reason my game continued. The conversation paused for a bit but while I was looking up words it kept going to the next part of the conversation. I'm not sure if it's supposed to do that or not.ps: what is a LMB? #4 t9 View Profile View Posts 9 Jul, 2019 @ 7:27am

Left Mouse Button. Conversations shouldn't continue unless you press a button (including the keyboard). #6 Tammy the Muffin View Profile View Posts 9 Jul, 2019 @ 1:38pm You can play in window mode and just click anywhere outside game's window or switch to word or whatever. There's an option "pause when game window is inactive" which is on by default. #7 Fifty Eight Republic View Profile View Posts 5 Nov, 2021 @ 5:46pm

You can open the console by typing "/" and then typing "pause" and then pressing enter #8 Queen Droxxanna View Profile View Posts 5 Nov, 2021 @ 8:36pm There is also a mod that allows you to change how time passes, and to pause the clock (freeze time) with out stopping game play. Note: if you leave the game paused to long or freeze time to long (like when I fall asleep while playing) then when you go back in the game and continue to play, the game could CRASH when you try to save after sleeping. This has happened to me several times and I get a message "out of memory" error. all that work, and I have to repeat the day. Just happened to me again, ya i fell asleep IRL, then i harvested 4000 hardwood before saving for the night, and it CRASHED. OH WELL. #9 jessa smith View Profile View Posts 5 Nov, 2021 @ 9:40pm Well since the game crashed it technically put you to sleep :) #10 Queen Droxxanna View Profile View Posts 5 Nov, 2021 @ 10:53pm

LOL, Well ya, but I always have to go back and re-do the whole day. #11 < > Showing 1-11 of 11 comments Per page: 1530 50 Stardew Valley > General Discussions > Topic Details Date Posted: 7 Jul, 2019 @ 1:04pmPosts: 11 Discussions Rules and Guidelines Close
