There is a recipe for scissors at level 21 that requires 5 obsidian. So far I don't know of any obsidian location that is safe to access at that level. Playing single player in Footpaw.Some troll on another site tried to claim you can go to any location and fly at that level. Which I know is total BS. You don't even unlock your first flier saddle until level 28. At this stage of the game, users typically stick to safer areas along the south coast of the map. But there doesn't seem to be any obsidian in those areas.Thanks! I say either wait until you can fly, and head for the volcano or the blue obelisk. Careful though those regions have some pretty extreme temperatures so be sure to dress accordingly. If you stand on the beach of the default spawn isthmus (the little hang nail that sticks out of the middle toe of the footpaw) facing east, the mountain just across the water has obsidian. Go across the water to where the lootdrop comes down and turn left and go up the mountain.
