Hi! I apologize if this has already been discussed; I did a quick glance through the posts but didn't see any re these names. I am pregnant with our 5th baby and we are trying to settle on a name. We both love the name Iyla but wanted some honest feedback from people. Do you feel the spelling is better as Isla (meaning Island) or Iyla (meaning bright; shining one) or ditch the name all-together? We have 3 other girls so we are feeling spent on girl names! Ah, okay, I see your point. I think they were meaning that Helen is Greek (which it is as I am sure you know) and they were defining Helen...however they were saying that iyla was a loose connection to Helen via ila. That said, the more I researched that I don't see where they got that idea.

Shoot, I guess back to the drawing board. isla will still be a contender but it isn't as high on my list with the meaning island.
