The BTS band members wore black suits and ties. All seven members took turns briefly to address the media before leaving the White House press conference room to head to their meeting with Biden. "We were devastated by the recent surge of hate crimes, including Asian American hate crimes," said Jimin. "To put a stop on this and support the cause, we’d like to take this opportunity to voice ourselves once again.".@BTS_twt at the white house briefing room: translation put into text🐨thank you karine for your kind words, hi we… https://t.co/PHkljflcPq

“We hope today is one step forward to understanding and respecting each and everyone as a valuable person,” V added.Last year, the K-pop band had released a statement in support of the Stop Asia Hate movement. The band recalled their own experiences with racial discrimination and hatred as they condoled the violence that went down at series of massage parlours in Georgia last year targeting Asian women. "We cannot put into words the pain of becoming the subject of hatred and violence for such a reason. Our own experiences are inconsequential compared to the events that have occurred over the past few weeks. But these experiences were enough to make us feel powerless and chip away our self-esteem," the band had said in a statement.#StopAsianHate#StopAAPIHate https://t.co/mOmttkOpOt

The singer said BTS believes that "music is always an amazing and wonderful unifier of all things."Thank you #BTS for stopping by the White House to talk about Asian inclusion and representation during #AANHPI month https://t.co/AJpWaVVHVs

"We're sorry," the members said as they stepped down from the podium. BTS later shared a picture with Biden on their official Twitter account. All seven-members and the US president posed with Korean heart hand sign. On work front, the K-pop band is currently prepping for the release of their new album 'Proof', which is set to release on June 10.You Might Also Like:Thanks for having us at the White House!
