The Crup, a magical creature similar to a dog, was described as looking like a Jack Russell terrier with a forked tail.[2]

Ronald Weasley's Patronus took the form of a Jack Russell terrier.[3] He first used it during a Dumbledore's Army meeting in the 1995–1996 school year.[4]
