History

Jameson was established in 1780, and is the best-selling Irish Whiskey in the world. It is also the third best-selling whiskey worldwide. 90 percent of Jameson’s production today, amounting to 4.7 million cases, is exported around the world.

In spite of the fact that Jameson may be a worldwide superpower, there is only one Jameson refinery that’s in operation today. Jameson hasn’t been refined in Dublin since 1975, at which point the operation was moved to Cork, Ireland. Whiskey enthusiasts can still visit either one of the refineries, but true history buffs might favour the one within the Irish capital.

Locally Grown Locally Sourced

All of Jameson’s whiskey ingredients - barley and water - is locally grown and sourced in ireland. The water used in its production process flows directly through the distillery from the Dungourney River.

Triple Distilled for Smooth Taste

Taste is the reason why Jameson whiskey goes through triple distillation. According to Jameson, good things come in threes. Also, the smoothness of the whiskey is acquired from the triple distillation.

Aged in American and Spanish Oak Barrels

Jameson sources its barrels from Spain and the United States. Barrels selected are formerly used to age bourbon to help impart the Jameson whiskey with notes of vanilla and toasted wood.
