In 2003, he ventured into music, appearing with Twista and Kanye West on the song “Slow Jamz,” which hit no. 1 in the US. He then portrayed Ray Charles in the biographical film Ray and won the Academy Award and BAFTA for Best Actor.

A year later, he released the studio album Unpredictable, which made him the fourth artist to have a No. 1 album and win an Academy Award. Foxx won Best Duet/Collaboration with Kanye West at the 2006 BET Awards for the song “Gold Digger” and then appeared in the box-office hit Jarhead.

Nothing But Success

After starring in the thriller The Kingdom in 2007, Jamie Foxx was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He then landed the lead role in The Soloist drama and joined Gerard Butler in Law Abiding Citizen.
