Introduction

JC Caylen is an American professional YouTuber and actor with an estimated net worth of $4 Million.

Before Wealth & Fame

After graduating from high school and a brief stint at the University of Texas at San Antonio, JC Caylen chose to drop out of school and pursue his career. With some success as a YouTube content creator already accomplished through his Life with jC channel, he would go on to make notable media appearances. These would range from appearances as himself in various shows and comedies to roles in movies and documentaries.

YouTube Channel

Throughout the early years of his YouTube career, JC Caylen experienced growing success with subscribers, and hit counts were on the rise. It was his collaboration with the YouTube supergroup Our2ndLife that catapulted him into the spotlight and significantly expanded his online reach.

The tour with Our2ndLife in 2014 helped to break the internet and pick up an impressive 2.7 million subscribers in a short period of time. Competing with some of the most-viewed YouTube videos, Caylen’s content picked up an impressive base of dedicated fans and followers.

In March 2015, Caylen and fellow YouTuber Kian Lawley signed with CAA (Creative Artists Agency), one of the world’s leading talent and sports agencies. The signing came after the rapid rise of their new KianAndJc YouTube channel, which had launched in January of that year.

A year after signing with CAA, the agency negotiated a deal with publisher HarperCollins for Caylen and Lawley’s biographies. The book, titled Don’t Try This at Home!, tells the story of how the duo quickly achieved their online fame. Just one week after its June 2016 release, the book jumped into Amazon’s top 500 bestselling books of the week, demonstrating the duo’s popularity.

Television Appearances

JC Caylen’s acting debut came in 2014 with an unnamed background role in the comedy series Teen Wolf before making several guest appearances. Over the next three years, he would appear in the series Making Moves, The YouTube Killer, and Fight of the Living Dead: Experiment 88. This experience led to his first recurring role on the show T@gged, where he played Sean across 23 concurrent episodes.

Caylen would again appear on television shows as himself in 2017 and 2018, in an episode of Apologies In Advance with Andrea Russell and Escape the Night. In 2019, he appeared in season two of the series Tell Me a Story, consolidating his rising presence on the small screen.

Reality House

Three years later, in July 2019, Caylen, along with Lawley, launched a competition series called Reality House on their joint YouTube channel. The reality TV formats of Big Brother and Survivor inspired the competition. It brought together a group of digital creators and influencers in a house where they competed in games and social experiments.

During that first year, Caylen and Lawley personally financed the project, including the $25,000 grand prize. Their investment paid off when the show went viral, with each episode getting millions of views and adding over 300,000 new subscribers to the channel. Following the success of Season One, and with the help of CAA, the series secured a major sponsor: the ticketing platform SeatGeek. When Season 2 launched in early 2020, the new sponsorship money doubled the prize pool to $50,000.

With the growing interest in Reality House, it’s more than likely that additional income would have come from branded merchandise tied to the series. The channel’s growth may have also boosted AdSense revenue by increasing video engagement and view counts. While the exact figures aren’t public, these combined factors may well have played a role in boosting Caylen’s net worth.

Documentary & Films

In addition to his YouTube content, music, and television show appearances, JC Caylen has appeared in several movies. Following his role in the documentary #O2LFOREVER, Caylen played himself in the film Sickhouse, a thriller written and directed by Hannah Macpherson. Sickhouse received positive reviews from critics, who likened it to a blend of The Blair Witch Project and other found-footage horror films.

His biggest role to date came in 2016, when he played Mickey in the Tyler Perry comedy film Boo! A Madea Halloween. Drawing inspiration from the Chris Rock movie Top Five, the film earned an impressive $74 million at the box office on a budget of just $20 million. Cayden would return to the franchise the following year for the sequel, a hit with his fans despite negative reviews from critics.
