John Cusack is an American actor, producer, and scriptwriter. He has acted in several films, including ‘The Sure Thing’ and ‘Stand By Me.’ He came into the show business as a voiceover artist when he was very young. His debut feature film was 'Class' in which he played the role of ‘Roscoe Maibaum.’ After that, he acted in films like ‘Grandview U.S.A’ and ‘Sixteen Candles.’ He played his first lead role in the film ‘The Sure Thing,’ which earned him popularity and recognition as an actor. Besides playing serious roles, he has also portrayed comical roles. His performance in the comedy film ‘Hot Pursuit’ is truly praiseworthy. He is also known for his performance as a failed security guard in 'Tapeheads.' The film 'Say Anything' showcased the subtlety of his acting skills. Besides playing the role of an unemployed man in ‘Money for Nothing,’ he has also played several other comic characters. He worked as a scriptwriter and actor for ‘Grosse Pointe Blank.’ He has also directed and produced shows for ‘The New Criminals,’ a Chicago-based theatre group, which he formed with his friends in 1988. Apart from acting, he has also written blogs for ‘The Huffington Post.’

John Paul Cusack was born on June 28, 1966, in Evanston, Illinois, United States, into a Catholic Irish-American family. His father Richard Cusack was an actor and documentary filmmaker. His mother Nancy Cusack worked as a mathematics teacher. He has four siblings.

At the age of nine, he attended ‘Piven Theatre Workshop.’ While attending ‘Nicolas Junior High School,’ he performed in various local stage productions and gradually became a well-known voiceover actor.

His debut film as an actor is ‘Class,’ a comedy film released in 1983. In the next year, he appeared in the film ‘Grandview U.S.A.’ The same year, he played a small role in ‘Sixteen Candles.’

After his graduation from ‘Evanston Township High School,’ he took admission at ‘New York University.’ After several months, he left the university without finishing his studies.
