Obama appears to have an issue with height. Albeit a tall man, Obama wants to appear taller than everyone else. Obama pulled the same stunt with the former Greek prime minister, Antonis Samaras. If you 'google' both their names, you'll notice that Obama is either sitting down or he's posing way in front of Samaras for a photo shoot. Obama deploys the same 'technique' when posing next to Trudeau (or actually posing in front of him, hence, the height perspective advantage). Obama is around 6ft1. Samaras and Trudeau are approximately the same height (circa 6ft2-6ft3). I could only imagine how Obama would desperately avoid posing next to Mark Rutte..
