In 2011, Kemba Walker signed a four-year rookie contract worth $10.7 million with the Charlotte Bobcats. Walker initially earned $1.9 million for his first season in the league. Walker’s annual salary consistently increased yearly, reaching $3.3 million in 2014, when the team was renamed the Hornets.

In 2015, Walker signed a new four-year rookie extension with the Hornets, valued at $48 million. The deal was fully guaranteed, putting Walker’s annual average salary at $12 million.
