Kenny Explains What It Means To Be A Boy Band Manager

Kenny may be known across Bachelor Nation for his abs, but before those made an appearance, he impressed viewers with his job title: "boy band manager."

There are a slew of impressive career-oriented men on Tayshia Adams' season of "The Bachelorette," from Joe the anesthesiologist and Ivan the aeronautical engineer to Bennett the wealth management consultant and Riley the attorney. The list goes on.

What exactly, though, does being a "boy band manager" mean? Luckily for Bachelor Nation, Kenny himself is here to explain.

The Chicago native joined Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin on a new episode of "Bachelor Happy Hour" and chatted with the ladies about his time on the show and some moments we didn’t see onscreen.

During their conversation, Rachel and Becca noted that they felt like Kenny stayed true to himself and his personality while on "The Bachelorette."

Kenny agreed and said, "Sometimes I come off as an a--hole if I’m calling people out or calling out situations that I did on this show a little bit, but it’s 100 percent how I am in real life."

Rachel noted that his job "requires you to be a little bit of a jerk, though" because he has to "deal with groupies, agents, denying talent," and so on. Becca then asked him to delve more into his career and how he landed on this path.

"I’ve been booking the talent for clubs here in Chicago for 17 years," Kenny explained. "I was doing that forever. That’s been my main thing. About six years ago, I had this concept to do a boy band tribute, so basically a tribute to NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, One Direction, New Kids on the Block, all that stuff."

Kenny continued, "I partnered up with a friend of mine from the business and we started a little company. Our first band that we put together was the boy band night. We assembled the musicians and just put it together. We have six bands since then that we’ve put together and manage and babysit."

He said the bands are all "really good" and they've performed in "good rooms across the country" and even in Canada.

Kenny admitted the musical talent stays with the band, and he’s more "behind-the-scenes," which makes sense given his meek performance on Tuesday’s episode of "The Bachelorette" that required the men to write and perform love songs.

He said about that group date in particular, "I was freaking the f--k out for that part."

Later in the podcast, Rachel and Becca asked if he thought NSYNC is better than Backstreet Boys, and Kenny agreed. He argued, "I absolutely usually go with NSYNC because I love Justin Timberlake. That’s why it tips to NSYNC for me. I like 'Dirty Pop' and 'It’s Gonna Be Me.'"
