Kevin Durant starred in the biggest story of the NBA off-season. After asking management for a trade and threatening that it was either him or Steve Nash, KD finally decided to stay with the Brooklyn Nets.

However, it wouldn't be a far-fetched idea to think that mid-season his desire to leave may return.

Durant put the Nets on the spot, because it is a franchise that bet heavily on him, with the intention of bringing a championship ring to the city.

The pressure from the two-time NBA champion was not enough and so he was forced to stay.

But there's a sense around the league that the soap opera isn't completely over. That's the case for NBA analyst Ric Bucher. According to the journalist, Durant is likely to ask for a trade again at some point this season.

"KD is going to reiterate his trade demand at some point. And Kyrie Irving is going to follow suit and this team is going to erode the same way it did last year," Bucher said on his 'On The Ball' podcast.

How likely is a trade?

It all depends on how the Nets start the season. If Irving stays, the team will once again be a title contender. They will have more time to plan for a full season without James Harden.

Durant's situation may cause questions about his commitment to the team. It won't be an easy environment when he returns to practice, and Steve Nash will be tasked with keeping the group united and staying focused on the goal.
