Krita has been crashing on me a ton, like every ten minutes or so. When I boot it back up, it opens an old auto save file from a completely different picture I haven't worked on in days. I can't get anything done because it keeps deleting all of my progress! Help???

1. make sure you have 2.9.11. The animation beta could crash for various reasons, one of them being caching going wrong. It’s why you can’t get animation from the downloads page.

2. Try this: https://docs.krita.org/KritaFAQ#Resetting_Krita_configuration

3. Watch what causes the crash. Like, maybe a certain key-combination? Random crashes outside of the animation beta/3.0 pre-alpha are very very rare.

Hi there! I like answering questions, so it is fine to ask them. But sometimes I get a lot of the same question. It takes up a lot of time to answer the same question, and I would like to reserve that time for answering the questions that are unique and more dififcult to answer. So before you ask a question, check if you can find your answer in the following places:

1. The FAQ! It has most common questions answered!
2. The manual in general! Our manual is reasonably up to date and full of useful information as well as tips and tricks! If you press f1 while running Krita you will automatically be taken to it as well!
3. If you have a bug, check the bugtracker first whether it has been reported yet!
4. Our forums have a ton of useful information as well. Use the search in the topright to search for your problem!
5. Please don’t sent me feature requests. The reason is that our features get designed carefully beforehand. I can only tell you if a feature is being worked on, but I cannot resolve feature requests. For more information about where to request features, check this.

Your question will not be automatically deleted if it could be answered with the list: I will always try to answer your questions, because there could be some reason you couldn’t find things, so it’s still valid you asked the question.
