Lake Chelan is the largest natural lake in the state of Washington. It occupies a deep glacial gorge in the Cascade Range in the north central part of the state. Much of the lake, which is about 55 miles (88 km) long and about 2 miles (3 km) wide, lies in the Okanogan National Forest. Its southern outlet drains into the Columbia River near the town of Chelan. LakeChelan State Park is situated near Chelan.
