Directions

After touchdown, take a scenic, all-weather highway to Lake Tahoe.

From Reno-Tahoe International Airport

Hop a shuttle (paid services) with nine available daily to North and South Lake Tahoe. Order an Uber or Lyft. Or choose from nine rental car agencies and drive. To South Lake Tahoe, take I-580 through Carson City (31 miles). Make a right on US 50 and continue about 25 miles. To North Lake Tahoe, take I-80 West to Truckee. Follow SR 267 East and SR 28 to Kings Beach, Crystal Bay, and Incline Village. Continue on I-80 and exit at SR 89 South for Tahoe City.

From Northern California Airports

If you land at any of the three Bay Area international airports, head toward Sacramento first. From San Jose (SJC), take I-880 North along the bay to I-80 East. From San Francisco (SFO), it’s US-101 South to SR-92 and across the San Mateo Bridge to I-880 North and I-80 East. From Oakland (OAK), follow i-880 North 13.5 miles to I-80 East.

Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is just outside the city. Take I-5 South to the highways that lead the rest of the way to Lake Tahoe.

To North Lake Tahoe. Follow I-80 East toward Truckee. To reach Tahoe City, take SR 89 South. To reach Kings Beach, Crystal Bay or Incline Village, stay on I-80 and take SR 267 East to SR 28.

To South Lake Tahoe. Take US 50 East toward Placerville and South Lake Tahoe. Turn right at the ”Y” onto Lake Tahoe Blvd (US 50).
