Landfill and Eco Centre hours and locations in Calgary

Information | Winter hour changes

Starting in November, the East Calgary location will be closed on Sundays for the winter season.

The City of Calgary has three landfill and Eco Centre sites where you can take residential waste, commercial waste, hazardous chemicals and some recyclables.

  The Eco Centres are a convenient way to recycle, reuse and dispose of your old and unwanted household items. They accept a wide range of items you can't dispose of in your carts at home.

  Eco Centre services

• Business and Commercial customers

  Businesses and commercial waste haulers can take advantage of our commercial waste disposal options as well as yard waste composting and recycling options for some materials.

  Commercial waste is now accepted at the Shepard Landfill location. Industrial waste is only available at the Shepard Landfill location.

Procedures and rates

The City of Calgary is committed to providing a safe and respectful workplace for all employees and customers. Physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated.

Waste loads must be tarped and secure to prevent littering. Please see Site Requirements for additional procedures when visiting a City landfill and Eco Centre.

A minimum charge is applied to all loads unless otherwise specified. Landfill loads are charged by weight and type of material. Please refer to the Residential rates page or the Commercial rates page for more information.
