Sources[]
- Mining - Lapis lazuli ore is most commonly found on layer 14. The ores usually spawn near diamond ore. When the ore is mined, 4–8 pieces of lapis lazuli drop. If the ore is mined by a pickaxe enchanted with silk touch, then the ore will have to be smelted in a furnace or blast furnace.
- Abandoned mineshafts - Some minecart with chests will have lapis lazuli inside of them.
- Villager trading - Cleric villagers will offer up to two lapis lazuli in exchange for an emerald after having been traded with once.
- Wandering traders will sell players 3 lapis lazuli for one emerald.

Uses[]
Lapis lazuli can be used in a few ways:
- It is used in the enchanting process for anything that is enchantable.
- It can be converted into blocks which can be used in decoration.
- The blue dye created from lapis lazuli can be mixed with a red dye, white dye, or cactus green to make purple, light blue, or cyan dye, respectively.
