Lava charms can now be found only in 'lava cavern layer' in golden chests. Since it's so hard to find, very often world regen doesn't contain it. If that happens, fishing is the last resort. To do lava fishing you firstly need to know how it works. It takes some time to fully understand that you need ridiculous amount of fishing power to do this. Otherwise, fishing one fish in lava can take about a minute. It means doing quests, obtaining potions, crates, baits, accessories, good rod, getting to know how fishing works and when to fish to have highest fishing power. Even then lava fishing is still slow without lava fishing rod or the lava bait accessory. When you have finished the preparation, you'd have to fish on average 40 obsidian fish to obtain the item! That's ridiculous since i haven't got it after having open more than 100! My suggestion is: PLEASE, make obtaining lava charm a tiny bit easier. Love.

64 Hellstone Crates opened. No Lava Charm. How rare is that thing now ?!

They need to make a crafting recipie for it or something, on an average play through I make at least 15 small worlds and search them for three hours each to find it, and I’m not even garunteed to get it then! B

There's the option of having the charm appear alongside other Shadow Chest loot. Maybe the chance to fish it up could also be increased, but I think fishing should more be the last resort for this kind of thing.

By the time you can reasonably spend the time to get the lava charm you pretty much don't need it so it's mainly for us completionist types Last edited: Jun 5, 2020

i mean, yes, but it's also a vital piece of the terraspark boots, which is something everyone wants.

Try getting them from lava fishing, everybody says... Sure but it's literally hours until you will be able to even start lava fishing, you've gotta get hell baits, a loooot of fishing power, potions... Without sonar potion don't even try... And you've gotta fish at the exact times of days to get more fishing power. Fishing power is key in lava fishing because otherwise it takes A LOT of time. And then good luck with the obsidian chest rate (ofc you have to have the crate potions), and then good luck with 2.5% chance.

Myself and a friend got to around 200 hellstone crates from fishing before we got the first Lava Charm between us, we ended up with nearly 1000 Obsidifish! After I got mine they gave up on fishing and went looking for gold chests in the cavern layer and managed to get a charm after about 10 chests. Maybe we just got insanely unlucky, but drop rate from crates does seem a bit low as we had a similar issue when trying to get Water Walking Boots from Ocean crates. T

I personally have no idea why it cant be a shadow chest reward it makes total sense to me atleast. B

Wow, you got insanely unlucky and then got insanely lucky by finding one in the Caverns. I don't think I've ever found one, myself. You must log in or register to reply here.
