Let's gather our supplies:

In order to be successful in the completion of the tutorials, you will need a few supplies. 

There is an option to do a simple drawing of flowers or you can follow further along and actually color the flowers in using watercolor paints. 

1. Sketchbook: There is no right or wrong sketchbook. Depends what you like, if you are feeling fancy then you can get a Moleskine, but there are plenty of other more affordable options if you are just starting out like this one on Amazon . 
2. Pencils:  Staedtler Mars pencils have always been my go to and favorite of all time. I have been using them since I went to art school. Some artists love to use a mechanical pencils to have thin and precise line, that is also absolutely up to you and you preference. I’d recommend this one. 
3. Eraser: As a beginner, it is crucial to have a good eraser to remove all of your mistakes. I like to have 2 earsers on me, one kneaded eraser from Faber-Castell and another normal one. 
4. Sharpener: Because if you want to have those fresh and crisp lines, you will need to have your tools sharpened and ready to go. I recommend this one.

How to Draw a Rose Step By Step for Beginners Easy:

Step 1: Start with the Outline of Rose

Let’s start with some basic shape to fit our drawing correctly on the sheet of paper when drawing a rose.

Draw a polygonal shape. This shape helps to plan the layout of the page. If the flower is open, it needs enough space.   

Then draw rough outlines of the stem and the leaves.

Step 2: Add the Rosebud to Rose

Start outlining the rosebud. It will be where the middle of the flower will be.Draw with very light lines, so it will be easier to make shapes more precise later.

Step 3: Draw the First Petal

Then start drawing petals from the center of the bud. The first one has a semicircle shape. 

 

Step 4: Add 2 More Petals to the Rose

The second one covers it and the third one covers them both.

Step 5: Start Adding in More Petals

Gradually add petals moving around the rosebud with a light overlap.Look closely to the reference image and observe how they look like, now what you think they look like. 

Step 6: Add More Petals on a Rose

Mark the middle line of the petal to understand its shape better. That way you will be able to create the volume of the flower.

It will make the rose look improved perspective-wise. 

Step 7: Add Petals from Centre of Bud

Gradually add petals moving around the rosebud with a light overlap. 

Step 8: Add Bigger Petals in

Bigger petals slightly bend outside of the bud. To make them look more natural you can make lines less even, a little shaky. Mark the middle line of the petal to understand its shape better. Bottom petals bend even more.

Step 9: Erase and Clean Up

Erase unnecessary lines. Draw more precise and detailed outline of the stem and leaves. Use eraser to make all lines slightly lighter before shading (if you want to shade.)
