    Reviewed in France on 20 December 2023Format: PaperbackVerified Purchase Méthode très progressive, et très efficace pour évoluer dans le blues. Il est vrai qu’il faut savoir lire la musique, mais les explications sont très claires et très compréhensible pour ceux qui n’ont jamais abordé le solfège. Donc ce n’est pas un obstacle voir un avantage car il vous apprend le solfège qui pourra vous servir pour tout apprentissage musical. Par contre il n’explique pas vraiment les bases techniques de l’harmonica pour un débutant. Je veux dire comment souffler et isoler les notes par exemple. Donc l’idéal ça serait d’acheter en plus un bouquin qui explique les bases purement technique pour quelqu’un qui n’a jamais touché un harmonica de sa vie. Mais je conseille quand même cette méthode pour apprendre le blouse à l’harmonica.     Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 August 2016Format: PaperbackVerified Purchase There are many 'basic' introductions to Blues Harp on the market; but most of them are either good on introducing you to the techniques, but full of tedious and unenthusing 'practice themes', or else (even more common) offer a few enjoyable exercises but hardly explain the skills they develop or how to use the riffs to further your general development.This book has a nearly perfect balance of hints on playing technique and real tunes, riffs, and grooves to make the techniques worth practising (and learning).It won't replace my two Winslow Yerxa 'Dummies' books on harmonica. But Yerxa is more like a full-time course, the Gelling is for practice notions when you want a bit of fun (but fun which teaches you stuff).This will definitely go on my 'use regularly' shelf (not into the rather larger pile of 'it looked better in the shop' publications).
