Music Career

Lil Durk started his career by releasing a freestyle to Gucci Mane and Plies “Wasted” called “Lamron Wasted” in 2010. That same year, he dropped “L’s Bitch,” with Lil Reese, followed by “Sneak Dissin” and “I’ma Hitta.” In 2012, he released “L’s Anthem,” which was remixed with French Montana and became one of Lil Durk’s biggest hits.

Def Jam Records

Following the popularity of “L’s Anthem,” Lil Durk signed with Only the Family and Def Jam Recordings. After some brief delays, his mixtape Signed to the Streets was released in October 2013, and he was named to the 2014 XXL Freshman Class.

Durk faced another arrest in 2013 for allegedly throwing a gun into his car, but the charges were dismissed in 2016 due to insufficient evidence. The following year, in 2014, he was arrested again for a gun charge, which was also later dropped due to lack of evidence.
