Career Overview

After graduating from high school, Lil Jon worked as a DJ in various Atlanta clubs before being hired at So So Def Recordings. After being promoted to the Executive Vice President of A&R, Lil Jon was responsible for recruiting Raheem the Dream, DJ Smurf, and Shawty Redd. His first release was a compilation album, So So Def Bass All Stars, which sold over 500k copies.

In 1995, Lil Jon collaborated with Big Sam and Lil Bo to create the group East Side Boyz. In 2014, he released the song “Bend Ova,” which featured Tyga. The song was used in the finale of Parks and Recreation. Four years later, he released the Christmas song “All I Really Want for Christmas” featuring the Kool-Aid Man in collaboration with the brand.

According to documents, Lil Jon owed $15,000 to Lackey Drywall, $6,743.86 to Eastern Wallboard Supply, and $1,050 to KLS Plumbing. The rapper’s representative stated that the general contractor Jon hired to manage the renovations was responsible for paying the companies promptly.
