Limit BreaksBy Shawn Saris, , Leah B. Jackson, +21.9k moreUpdated: Sep 9, 2013 12:49am UTCIn Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Limit Breaks make a return! Unlike most other Final Fantasy games, individual players do not have access to Limit Breaks. These are strictly a party mechanic, and the size and encounter determine the party's Limit Break capabilities.
The Limit Break Meter
When you are in a light party (4 players, no companions), you will see a single bar above the roster. This is the party's Limit Break.
Each party member's action will increase the Limit Break meter. This includes dealing damage, healing players, taking damage from enemies, and casting support spells.
In light party dungeons, the maximum Limit Break meter will increase to two bars when facing a boss. In full parties (8 players, no companions), two bars will always be present.
Finally, when in a full party and facing a dungeon boss, the Limit Break meter will be at its full potential with three bars. This allows for the most devastating Limit Breaks in the game.
The class of the player who initiates the Limit Break determines the effect. The charts below list the Limit Breaks and the classes needed to activate them.
