How to link Goodreads to Amazon?

To link Goodreads to Amazon account, please ensure you have already created your own Goodreads accounts. On the Goodreads website, there are different ways to sign up Goodreads.

If you have an Amazon account, just choose "Continue with Amazon" .

After clicking “Continue with Amazon”, you will be redirect to a new page to sign in with your Amazon credential.

In the new page, click “Allow” button to allow Goodreads to access your Amazon account.

Once done, you can login to Goodreads with your Amazon username and password.

Exactly how to use Goodreads?

1. Create exclusive bookshelf

Once signed in your Goodreads, it will auto display the books list of your “Current Reading”. Here you will find your bookshelves under “My Books” tab. Also there are three bookshelves right there, “Want to Read,” “Read,” and “Currently Reading.” If you want more, you can just create new bookshelf by clicking “Add shelf”.

2. How to add your purchased Kindle books to Goodreads?

On Goodreads website, just find the person icon at the top menu bar, and then click on "Account Settings" in the drop-download menu.

Then click "App" tab under "Account Settings", and click " Add your Amazon book purchases" in the Amazon section.

You will be redirected to a new page. Here all your purchased kindle books will be displayed. Now you can add any of them to your Goodreads bookshelves.

3. How to use Goodreads on Kindle Paperwhite

If you have linked Goodreads to your Amazon account, you can access Goodreads on your kindle paperwhite or other kindle devices in a supported Marketplace (US, UK & Ireland, Canada, India or Australia).

Usually, you should automatically see the "g" logo in the navigation bar.

But if you have updated your kindle firmware to the latest one, tap three dots at the top right corner, and you'll find the "Goodreads" option there. Tap it to access Goodreads on Kindle.

To add Amazon books to Goodreads on kindle paperwhite, just tap "Goodreads">>"Shelves">>"Add Amazon Books", then you can just rate the book or add it to a shelf.

4. How to turn off Goodreads on Kindle

To turn off Goodreads on Kindle, you need to unlink your Amazon and Goodreads accounts. On the Goodreads website, just click the Person icon at the top right corner and then select "Account Settings" in the drop-down menu.

Scroll down to the Amazon section and select Unlink Amazon Account.

Note:

Unlinking your Amazon and Goodreads accounts will also prevent Kindle reading updates from being automatically added to the site.

5. How do I stop Goodreads from sharing what I'm currently reading on Kindle?

There are two ways to stop sharing your currently reading on Goodreads.

1 You can just unlink your Amazon account and Goodreads account. By doing this, there is no possibility of sharing your current reading list.

2 You can have your account linked, but have to set your preference not to update Goodreads from your Kindle devices/apps. Please follow the below steps to set your kindle not update.

When you start reading a new book, the About box pops up. If you don’t click "Mark as currently reading", the book won’t show up on your Goodreads currently reading section.

When you finish the book, a message will pop up and ask if you also want to mark the book "read" on Goodreads. Say no. And don’t rate the book because the star ratings applies to both Amazon and Goodreads.

6. How to view my kindle highlights and notes on Goodreads?

To view all your kindle highlights and notes on Goodreads website, just click "My books" and then click "Kindle Notes & Highlights" in "Your Reading activity".

And then you can view all your kindle notes & highlights. Click "View your notes and highlights" to view them easily.
