Morgan Wallen is keeping the new music coming. He has finally dropped his long-awaited song, “You Proof,” marking his third release within a month.
Not only is it an exciting day for Wallen because the new song is out to the public, but the highly-anticipated release also coincides with the singer’s 29th birthday. He shared the release date months after the initial teaser, which has only continued to build the excitement among his fans.

“Y’all know I couldn’t forget this one. Birthday present to myself,” he captioned his official announcement on TikTok earlier this month.
“This is gonna be the song of the summer,” one fan commented on the post, which prompted a response from Wallen. “Spread that rumor,” he said.

Wallen first teased the heartbreak anthem in the summer of 2021 when he shared a snippet of the demo recording on social media. The “Whiskey Glasses” singer earned an overwhelming response as the clip quickly rose in views and requests for the full release. It has now surpassed 1.8 million streams since he posted it.
“You proof. Been wanting to put out new music,” he wrote in the caption of the audio track.
The song dives into the inability to cure a heartbreak with alcohol, no matter how much he drinks. Wallen sings about attempting to use the highest proof of alcohol to heal the pain, yet nothing seems to be strong enough to erase the memories of the past relationship.
“Put em up till they shut em down, yeah/You never ain’t not around, yeah/Don’t matter what time, what town, I can’t get you gone/Turn a party upside down, just looking for something that does it/I’ll give them all my money/Ain’t nobody selling nothing you proof/Something stronger than I’m used to/Yeah, I’ve been pouring 90 to 100 feel like nothings gonna cut it that’s the hard truth/Yeah, I need something you proof, I need something you proof,” he sings in the lyrics that have been flooding social media.
Sharing just a snippet of the song quickly turned it into a hit. Over 5,000 fan-created videos have been shared on TikTok, even before the song was officially released.

“You Proof” follows the recording-breaking debut of the East Tennessee native’s “Don’t Think Jesus” and the heartfelt tribute to his mom, “Thought You Should Know.” The new song takes on a different theme compared to his other recent releases that instead focus on finding redemption with Jesus and showing appreciation to his mom. Regardless, each of the solo tracks show a deeply personal side of the singer.
Morgan Wallen is currently on the road, making the rounds of his massive headlining trek of The Dangerous Tour in support of the record-breaking double album. As a result, the tour, has also seen great success with several sold-out dates. It will run through October and feature several special guests including HARDY and Larry Fleet.

The country music hitmaker has also added Lainey Wilson, Kameron Marlowe, Chase Rice, Ian Munsick, and ERNEST to his lineup.
This weekend, Wallen is preparing for his next performances in Rapid City, SD (May 13), and Billings, MT (May 14).
