Lita is easily one of the very best to have ever stepped into a professional wrestling ring. She was a true trailblazer for women in the sport and her matches are still regarded as some of the best in WWE history. Along with Trish Stratus, the two really helped to elevate the position of women on the WWE card. Lita has accomplished a lot over her career. From title wins to memorable storylines, Lita did a lot during her time in WWE. However, there is a lot that she also did outside of the company. Let's get to learn more about Lita here.

She Debuted Alongside The Godfather
She Was An Extra For WWE

- It was her beginning steps in WWE.
- She ended up being a trailblazer in women's wrestling.
Before Lita was an active performer in WWE, she did work as an extra, with her first televised appearance being as part of The Godfather’s “Ho-Train”.
Despite being an undignified debut for the legend, it was the first steps towards a legendary career for Lita, where she should become so much more than just a background character, attempting to redefine women’s wrestling. Being an extra in this capacity has been something commonplace for a long time in WWE, with recent examples of newer and younger talents being used in No Way Jose’s conga line, or Adam Rose’s Rosebuds.
She Was In The First All Women's RAW Main Event
Lita Battled Trish Stratus For The WWE Women's Championship
- Lita was the first woman to be involved in three RAW main events.
- She and Stratus made history as the first women to wrestle in the main event of the show with no male stars involved.

The first came during a mixed tag team match, where she teamed with The Rock to face Triple H & Trish Stratus. Next, came a Women’s Championship match against Stephanie McMahon, with The Rock as the special guest referee.
However, the most notable was her Women’s Title win against Trish Stratus, in the first singles match between two full-time women in a main event, which featured no male superstar in any sort of capacity. This was a historic match and lives fondly in the memories of many fans around the world.

She Faced Jacqueline In Her Debut Match
- Lita faced Jacqueline at a WWE live event.
- The match happened in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
- The two later faced off on SmackDown for the title.
Just like most other stars in professional wrestling, Lita started off at the bottom when she first joined WWE. With less than a year of experience under her belt, Lita's first WWE match ever took place at a live event where she took on Jacqueline. Not only that, but it was also a WWE Women's Championship match. While she did come out on the losing side, it was not a bad start for the WWE Hall of Famer.
She Wrestled In ECW
Her Name Was Angelica In Philadelphia
- Lita was also known as "Miss Congeniality" in ECW.
- She wrestled on ECW Hardcore TV once.
- She was trained by Dory Funk, Jr. while in ECW.
While fans are most familiar with Lita's time spent in WWE, they may not be aware that she actually spent some time in "The Land of Extreme" before she signed with WWE. Back in 1999, Lita joined ECW after Paul Heyman directly reached out to her. This led to Lita wrestling four matches for the promotion before she went on to sign with WWE in 2000. During her time there, she was an in-ring competitor and was the on-screen girlfriend of Danny Doring.

- She retired from being a full-time wrestler in WWE in 2006.
- Lita returned to WWE on a part-time basis in 2022, with her last match taking place in 2023 as of now.
Lita had her first retirement from wrestling when she was still very young. It's been over 15 years since she first retired in 2006, and she still looks pretty much the same. But in reality, Lita is 48 years old.
Despite that, she could still deliver a great match. Last year, she even agreed to a short-term deal to wrestle in WWE. Her final WWE match as of February 2024 was her six-woman tag team match at WrestleMania 39, where she teamed with Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus to defeat Damage CTRL (Bayley, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai).

- She and Matt Hardy dated from 1999-2006.
- She also dated Edge in the mid 2000s.
Most fans know about the relationship between Matt Hardy and Lita. These two were in love but then, Lita cheated on Hardy with Edge. Matt was recovering from an injury at that time and Lita knew their relationship was dead. She then bonded with Edge while traveling, and they developed romantic feelings for each other.
After she broke up with The Rated R Superstar, Lita also dated CM Punk on and off from 2009 to 2013. Currently, she's not dating anyone (at least not publicly) and has also never been married before.
Lita Is A Multi-Time World Champion In WWE
She Held The WWE Women's Title Four Times
- Lita's first title win took place in August 2000.
- She feuded with countless names over the title.
- Her longest reign was 71 days.
There is a reason that Lita is held in such high regard in not just WWE history, but professional wrestling history in general. At the time when Lita was at her most popular, women did not have nearly the same amount of opportunities that they do now in business. Lita also broke the mold by having a truly unique look at the time. With her becoming so popular, it only made sense that WWE put their Women's Championship on her on more than one occasion.
Throughout her career, Lita captured world title gold four times. Despite all of her reigns being under 100 days, Lita certainly became a fixture of the Women's Championship scene throughout her time in WWE.
Lita's Billed Height Is 5'6"
Height Was Never A Major Issue For Lita
- She wasn't the tallest, but also wasn't the shortest in WWE.
- Her rival, Trish Stratus, was 5'4".
- She was taller than many women in WWE.
At 5'6", Lita isn't the tallest female WWE wrestler. But there are dozens of wrestlers who are at least a few inches shorter than her. Even Lita's biggest rival in WWE, Trish Stratus, was billed as 5ft 4in.
But just like with any other major wrestlers, height never became an issue for Lita. At least in her case, her height was around average for a female WWE wrestler.
She Was In A Band
Lita Used To Play Bass
- She was the lead vocalist in The Lucagors.
- The band broke up in 2014.
- They released their only album, called The Lucagors, in 2007.
Before she became a wrestler, Lita played bass guitar for several bands. In 2006, she formed The Lucagors and became the lead vocalist.
She even wore the band's t-shirt during her retirement match that year. The band was disbanded in 2014 after an unsuccessful tour in the United Kingdom.
