I ordered several leopard frog tadpoles and one year later they are happily living as frogs in my outdoor koi pond. I chose leopard frogs because they are a native local species, and couldn’t be happier with how they’ve grown up. They arrived healthy and are still thriving as adult frogs.

We had some issues with deceased tadpoles arriving which is really unfortunate after two attempts due to the July heat and distance. However, the team was very responsive and understanding and lived up to their guarantee both offering a second chance then a refund. I would 100% recommend them because that type of customer service is tough to find. I’ll try again with them in the late summer early fall when it’s cooler

Very well! I change water more frequently than recommended – 1/3 every other day, plus added a couple of aquatic plants and gravel so they can have nice environment. They have been feeling well and are already growing legs! I have been having them for a month and a half now, would definitely buy again!

As a science teacher, I had the wonderful opportunity to have a real life survival of the fittest scenario play out with the tadpoles I purchased. One was not able to make it, while one is growing and developing well. It led to a fantastic conversation about what could have actually happened for this to occur. That discussion is something that no lesson I plan would ever be able to even come close to. While this could be something that I could be upset about, I know that there is a far greater science lesson to be learned here. I will absolutely purchase from this company again and again.

I ordered two tadpoles and they arrived alive and well. One thing I would recommend to anyone buying tadpoles is adding “good bacteria” to the tank by using a product such as “Safe Start” (by Tetra) to prevent “new tank syndrom” which can kill your tadpoles in a couple weeks. It’s caused by the build up of ammonia and nitrite which is a byproduct of animal waste. This is one of the reasons they tell you to change the water every week. I use “Stability” (by Seachem) and add .5 ml per day. You should at a minimum add “good bacteria” any time you change or add water to your aquarium so your tadpoles don’t die from ammonia toxicity.

My tadpole arrived today perfectly packaged and protected by styrofoam peanuts. On Earth Day ???? he’s doing well in his new home swimming around and hopefully adjusting to new surroundings. He’s also got company in there, another tadpole I purchased about 3 weeks ago.

Love our Leopard frog, who developed from his tadpole stage the Summer of 2020 and is now full grown and actually makes interesting sounds during the nights. Also, he enjoys hiding out in his pretend tree trunk tunnel while hunting for live crickets.

3 out of 5 Tadpole lover – June 1, 2020
The tadpoles came in alive and very healthy. They are very active. I also have a tadpole that I got back in October 2019 (6/2/20 as I’m writing this) and he didn’t grow legs. Months later I think I found out why, his water was too cold every time I changed it. So then I got a heater. Now I think I see little nub legs! If any one is reading this, please add a heater other wise the tadpole may not grow legs.

I bought the kit with two tadpoles back in March of 2019 for my Kindergarten classroom. We study lifecycles and my students love learning and watching tadpoles change into frogs. I followed the directions perfectly, I’m an animal lover no matter what type of creature. I wanted them to live and thrive. In July, the first tadpole died. He only grew his two back legs. Today, January 2, 2020, I still have Bob (students named him). He has never developed or changed. His tank is changed with chemical free water once a week (as directed). He is fed as directed the food that was sent with him/it. However, still no change and he is still alive!!! My students were very disappointed and the first time I contacted the company they gave me the same directions I was already following from the beginning. Basically, assuming it was my fault that the tadpole never changed. Obviously I am doing something right, because it is alive after 10 months.

Such a wonderful project! Our tadpole grew into the cutest little frog, ever! I do recommend switching to an aquarium with a filter, it will speed up their growth tremendously! See the video below!! ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

I bought two tadpoles after my 4K class couldn’t stop talking about frogs after our non-fiction unit. The only thing I would suggest is that you order them in the fall if you are getting them for a classroom. They take 12-16 weeks to change, and we will be out of school before that. I love in Wisconsin so I couldnt order earlier because of the cold weather. My students can’t get enough of these tadpoles!!

I absolutely love my leopard frogs. I have 2 in a 20 gallon long habitat that I recently remodeled and they love it. My 2 year old loves watching them especially when there are crickets running around lol.

Unfortunately, the tadpoles didn’t make it. I love the idea, however, and would be willing to try growing them again. I must’ve done something wrong because I was in the middle of changing jobs and couldn’t pay much attention.

Our granddaughter is enjoying watching the tadpole develop. She can now see it’s legs growing. Great science learning idea.
