LMFAO Split Up After Redfoo And Sky Blu Drift Apart | Metro News

LMFAO have split up for the time being, one half of the duo Redfoo has confirmed, leaving the world to deal with a huge ‘party music’ deficit.

The electro-pop duo, responsible for bringing lyrics such as ‘She make me wanna say la la la la, la la la la’ into the world confirmed that they are moving in ‘different directions’ and have no plans to record together in the near future.

Redfoo told the Press Association: ‘I think that we naturally just started hanging with two different sets of people, two different crowds, but we’re always family. He’ll always be my nephew, I’ll always be his uncle.’

The 37-year-old, known for his afro and lens-less glasses, said the pair had grown weary of ‘forcing’ out party anthems.

‘I feel like we’ve been doing this for so long, five or six years,’ he added. ‘And we’re kind of like saying, well, let’s just do what’s natural and just kind of explore that, instead of like forcing it all the time.’

Redfoo insisted that his solo material will maintain an LMFAO feel however, saying: ‘All the music that I’m going to make is always going to be LMFAO-ish… I love all the topics that we talk about.

‘I was really passionate about bringing party music to the world, so I will always be making some kind of party music.’

The musician has been keeping busy recently, acting as a tennis coach to junior player Ayaka Okuno, penning a song for NFL team the New England Patriots and performing on the USA Gymnastics tour.
