Look For A Reset Switch On Power Driver 2000 Inverter

My power drive. 2000 inverter overloaded while using microwave . Had to disconnect 2 stop alarm. Do this model have a Reset switch some where?

Thanks for asking a question through our site.

My husband Mike and I have used PowerDrive’s 1500 watt inverters in our trucks, but not the 2000 watt product.

I do not see a reset switch in the image or written description about the 2000 watt inverter on PowerDrive’s site, but perhaps the following will help…

We, too, once overloaded one of their inverters and thought that it had died. We bought another brand new inverter and installed it as the old one had been. It wouldn’t work! What was going on?

As it turned out, the in-line fuse that had been installed between the inverter and the bank of batteries had blown. We didn’t know that before performing some inverter troubleshooting. Once the inverter was connected directly to the bank of batteries, all worked correctly.

Is your inverter connected directly to the batteries (via installation kit cables) or does it go through an in-line fuse first? If the latter, is the fuse good? If the fuse is good and the inverter doesn’t work correctly, you may want to contact PowerDrive directly.

Since you mentioned that you overloaded the inverter using the microwave, I feel compelled to ask: * Does your microwave require less power in watts than your inverter can deliver? (If it runs at the inverter’s “peak” power or higher, it won’t work correctly.) * Were you running more than one appliance at a time that caused the inverter to overload? (If so, unplug next time so as not to overload it.)
