Rewatched this as part of a little project to also read the original source material these stories are based on.

All good sci-fi is based on a simple question.. "What if?". What if <insert hypothetical scenario> happens in our current understanding of the world? And John Scalzi does it again with his limitless absurd imagination with "What if yogurt developed super intelligence?"

Interestingly, John Scalzi first came upon this idea when he was writing about Ayn Rand's 'Atlas Shrugged' (while imagining John Galt as an intelligent cup of yogurt), where John instigates societal collapse and causing untold death to implement his solutions to America's problems through his own ideas of effective governance. A five minute short about how a sentient Yogurt took control of the planet is the best thing Netflix have put out. This whole series (which I'm slowly making my way through) is absolutely fantastic and has rekindled my love of Sci-Fi all over again. Hats off to Tim Miller and David Fincher for creating something truly special. I can't recommend this series enough, and whilst I might be in the minority this is my favourite short from the bunch. It's not the best written, it doesn't have the best animation, there are no characters except for the narrator but what it does best is what makes Sci-Fi great; it presents an idea and explores it. Something as painfully simple as a talking Yogurt pot is fully realised in an adult manner that completely works. It also helps that it takes inspiration from Orson Welles's classic radio play "War of the Worlds". I absolutely adored this short.
