  1. An insect, the honeymoon fly (Plecia nearctica, family Biblionidae), native to Central America and the southeastern United States. Synonyms: double-headed bug, kissybug
  2. An insect native to subtropical regions of south-eastern China, Taiwan, and Japan (Plecia longiforceps).
