Crisis on Infinite Earths: Tom Ellis makes cameo as Lucifer

In the biblical book of Genesis, Cain and Abel are named as the first two sons of Adam and Eve. They both made an appearance in Lucifer Morningstar’s (played by Tom Ellis) world in the Fox and now Netflix series, Lucifer turning his life on earth upside down. What happened to Cain and Abel? Will they return for season 5?

Tom Welling starred as Marcus Pierce, an LAPD Lieutenant and boss of Chloe Decker (Lauren Decker), Dan Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro) and Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia) in season three of Lucifer.

However, it was later uncovered Tom was Cain, the world’s first murderer who had the power of immortality as a punishment from God.

As long as Cain remained human (as Marcus Pierce) on Earth, he was immortal but all he desperately wanted was to die.

Alongside being Cain, he was also the criminal mastermind, The Sinnerman, who was responsible for the death of Charlotte Richards (Tricia Helfer).

• Lucifer season 5: When is Lucifer season 5 out on Netflix?

In the season three finale, Cain lured Lucifer and Chloe into a trap and tried to kill them both.

Believing Cain had killed Chloe, in a fit of rage Lucifer killed Cain, stabbing him to death with one of Maze’s (Lesley Ann-Brandt) demon blades.

Cain originally believed he would be going to heaven, confessing he has no regrets.

However, Lucifer knew Cain regretted killing Charlotte and as a result he will torture himself with guilt in hell for eternity, alongisde his brother.

As Lucifer returned to Hell at the end of season four, a Cain and Lucifer reunion could well be on the cards.

Unfortunately, Welling has not confirmed whether he would reprise his role as Cain in the fifth series.

Welling is currently starring in the Arrowverse crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths as Clark Kent/Superman from Smallville.

Abel

Abel (Lauren Lapkus) was the younger brother of Cain and the world’s first murder victim.

The character appeared in season three, episode 16 titled Infernal Guinea Pig.

After years of sibling rivalry, Cain and Abel eventually fought to the death with Cain killing Abel.

In the book of Genesis, Cain murdered Abel and God punished him by condemning him to a life of immortality.

Abel was sent to hell and there, he was tortured by Mazikeen (Lesley Ann-Brandt) and other demons.

In Lucifer, Cain was brought to Earth by Lucifer in an attempt to remove Cain from Earth.

However, Abel’s soul appeared in the body of a young woman called Bree (Lauren Lapkus), instead of an elderly man as intended.

On earth, Abel attempted to kill his brother but Cain was resurrected after numerous attempts, due to his immortality.

At the end of the episode, Abel was unfortunately hit by an ambulance while crossing the street in front of Lux.

Abel has not appeared in Lucifer since his unfortunate death and Lapkus has not confirmed her return for the final series.

However, Lucifer did return to hell at the end of season four, so there is always the possibility the pair could cross paths.

The Orange Is The New Black actress and comedian is currently the host of her own podcast called With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus.

Her previous well-known podcast guests have included Big Mouth’s Nick Kroll and comedian’s Andy Daly and Scott Aukerman.
