Lucifer: Netflix releases trailer for season five part two
The first eight episodes of Lucifer season five aired in August last year, building up to a shocking cliffhanger ending heading into part two. During the lengthy wait between new episodes, several fans returned to the series on Netflix only to discover the midseason finale was packed with plot holes.

A baffling narrative mistake involving Chloe Decker (played by Lauren German) has been unearthed in the first half of Lucifer’s fifth season.

Unfortunately, Chloe’s initial kidnapping left some viewers scratching their heads when they realised the LAPD made no efforts to recover their valued detective.

One confused fan took to Reddit to ask fellow viewers why Chloe’s disappearance led to very little investigation from her fellow police officers.
User annabna posted: “What do the police think - who kidnapped Chloe?
“Nobody was arrested for kidnapping and holding the Detective, right?”
Those in Lucifer’s inner-circle, including Chloe’s ex-husband Dan Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro), eventually found out his identical twin had been impersonating him to sabotage his life on Earth.

Even so, this user raised a good point by reminding fans the LAPD’s trusted CSI Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia) still isn’t aware of Lucifer’s true identity.
They added: “Or even Ella - does Ella know who did it? Pete?”
Ella’s new boyfriend for season five Pete Daily (Alexander Koch) is eventually unmasked as a terrifying murderer known as the Whisper Killer.
However, the sadistic criminal is brought in for questioning when Chloe disappears, and insists he doesn’t know anything about her whereabouts.

When Chloe later turns up safe and sound, the identity of her kidnapper is promptly swept under the rug and the police don’t take the investigation any further.
Although Ella clearly believed her sinister ex-boyfriend had something to do with her kidnapping, she doesn’t press the matter any further when Chloe is safely recovered.
Down in the comments, another fan likened the mistake to the fourth season finale, which concluded with a room full of demon-possessed bodies collapsing dead on the floor.
They replied: “I was wondering the same. Similarly, all the dead bodies at the Mayan.”

Lucifer season 6 release: Amendaiel sparks frenzy with date tease
“But if I thought too much about all the plot holes in this show, I wouldn't enjoy it as much. Crime solving devil, don't overthink it.”
Much like the show’s outlandish premise, Lucifer frequently hand-waves some of the more ridiculous plot details before heading swiftly onto the next case.
Thankfully, most fans have been able to overlook most of the show’s shortcomings, and are more excited than ever for the upcoming sixth and final instalment.
