"Macarena" is a Spanish dance song by Los del Rio. The single is about a woman named Macarena. It was on the 1993 album A mi me gusta. The song was an international hit in 1995, 1996 and 1997.
The song was recorded in 1992. It was released on August 15, 1995 in the United States. A reworked version peaked at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1996. It stayed there for 14 weeks. The song was also performed by the Bayside Boys.
The original version was released in Spanish language in 1993.[1]
