Make Parrots Breedable - Minecraft Feedback

1112 Follow Make parrots breedable under review

For many reasons all of our pets in Minecraft could be hurt and then die, parrots either. When that happens and our number of pets decrease we just simply breed, from the couples that we have already taken from their biomes and already have been tamed, to cover that down. So I see pointless to go every time to the jungle if one of our parrots is out. I collect parrots but I avoid exposing them to danger so they are seated in a room and don't go with me, when I could do so and then taking advantage of their imitating sounds.

I suggest that the parrots breeding could be similar like turtles breeding, where one gets pregnant and lay its eggs in an specific place -like a nest for this case. And the eggs themselves could also work like the chickens' eggs when are thrown and then could hatch either. And by the way, that nest could be a block spawned attached to a tree (like cocoa beans and bee nests).

Then they would be like chickens. And by the way, chickens are both breedable and egg-hatchable.

They could be like the turtles when they lay on their eggs over the sand, but instead over a nest.

    I just agree!

I don't know why they've removed the breeding feature for parrots. It doesn't make any sense.

Make the parrots a little nest or home and whenever you breed them they’ll lay an egg just like how a turtle does. After a certain period of time they will hatch and boom another parrot.

They do come with you sometimes but you can't control when they get on or off.

You could feed them glistering melons, like how horses eat golden carrots.

I think you should do the nests and eggs but make it so you know where the nest is.🙃

I agree! I was so sad to find out birds can't be bred, and even MORE sad to realize they used to be breedable until people pointed out that kids would think feeding chocolate chip cookies to real birds was okay. I don't understand why they removed the feature entirely instead of just replacing cookies with, I don't know, melon seeds or some kind of fruit.

I like the idea of building them a nest for their eggs.

Also why not allow parrots to be healed using a healing splash potion? Also why not just nests but hollow trees

Personally, I think you should be able to breed tamed parrots by feeding 2 parrots seeds.

Pretty sure the reason parrots aren't breedable is because they drop feathers and ppl can use them as feather farms (though idk why anyone would, chickens drop more feathers than parrots). All they need to do is remove the parrot dropping feathers on death.

feed them a certain seed so they can mate and lay certain eggs into a different color variation of a bird but it would take a few in game days to hatch though.

Same should go for fish. If there's a living thing in the world, humans will eventually figure out how to breed it.

As mentioned above,  crafting a hollow somehow into existing tree wood (even having trees spawn with hollows in their wood) would be a fantastic idea to allow parrots to breed. This would make it a slightly more complex but different form of breeding since the parrots would not only require say a new type of seed or nut to breed them but would also require a hollow to do so. One of the parrot parents would then sit in the hollow for perhaps 1 to 2 days (even more). After that period it would produce a chick, and then both would exit the hollow, although maybe there could some kind of option to collect the parent and chick when they are ready to leave (there should be something to notify the player when they are ready to leave the hollow) so they don't both go wandering about.

How come the parrots & bats are both impossible to breed yet are featured in the advancement, if it's for game balance then it should definitely be the chickens & the bees.

If Parrots were breedable mobs, there would be baby Pesky Birds, which would be annoying and cute. You have my upvote!

Maybe they could make a stick/branch block or just be able to place down sticks in general so that the parrots can lay their eggs there? You could also use flint and steel to make a fire! That sounds fun to me.

    ;)

I love this idea, especially the unique idea of nests. Baby birds should not fly and should be a dull color compared to adults.

I would like to point out to Mojang that captive breeding is much better for wild populations than continuously extracting wild birds. If they want to keep strictly on the pro environment sentiment. Perhaps you would need to give them a hay bale to nest on / build a nest from?

First in time, first in rights, but not this time. the parrot came first than the allay but is this latter one that is about to receive a mob multiplying feature. Please, add the parrots reproduction ASAP, why not the next major update to considerate?

They can also make their nest (or simply lay their eggs) over a jungle or a mangrove tree leafs block. Mobs like the frogs (to the water) and turtles (to the sand) do this already when breeding.
