| The male symbol ♂ is the astrological symbol for Mars and the female symbol ♀ is the astrological symbol for Venus. To insert ♂/♀ in Microsoft word (PC version), use the "Insert/Symbol..." funtion on the menu. A window displays special symbols and characters will open. Ironically, don't select the font "Symbol". Select a font such as "Times New Roman". Scroll down one should find the ♂/♀ symbols. For both Mac and PC, Astrological fonts can be purchased from Fonts.com. For web publication, the html (unicode) codes for male and female symbols are ♂ (♂) and ♀ (♀).
