11 Aug, 2021 @ 10:52am Manually installing mods help. I've been trying get a few mods I dled from Nexus to work. I tried following the instructions with unzipping and simply moving the folder over. However, when I log in, the mod I just installed had a yellow !. I also checked the mod section to see if it was there. It wasn't.I asked for help on another website, and I was told I had bricked it. I really dont understand. I tried moving files around. Tried deleting files. Now I'm so beyond confused. Please help me. Some pictures could help me figure out how to install the right way. Thank you for helping me. < > Showing 1-13 of 13 comments

11 Aug, 2021 @ 12:01pm Is the location of your mod's about.xml folder like this:(steamlibrarypath)\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods\(modname)\aboutOr this:(steamlibrarypath)\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods\(modname)\(modname)\aboutIf the latter then you have made the easiest mistake with manual modding and nested the mod inside another folder, just move the mod and its contents one level up in the path.Otherwise make sure it is a standard folder and not any form of compressed folder. #1

11 Aug, 2021 @ 12:41pm Its not that different from f4 there you would have mods/(modname)/Data without using a modmanager here its mods/(modname)/about ect so you create a folder in mods for every mod and importent is in that folder must be the about folder of the mod maybe also deffs folder. #4

11 Aug, 2021 @ 2:47pm The version you downloaded from Nexus of the music mod isn't updated to 1.3 but the Steam version of that same mod was updated: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2470126069 #10

11 Aug, 2021 @ 3:39pm Music mods should be fine no matter the version, if its for 1.0 or later there is little reason for it not to work. #11

11 Aug, 2021 @ 3:41pm I don't do music mods, so I honestly don't know. But if the Nexus version is causing problems, it might be easier to just subscribe to the Steam version. Just saying. #12

11 Aug, 2021 @ 4:06pm Hey, all I was able to find out how to use the correct version of the mod from the lab of lovers. I had three different versions. Tried each one, until I found the right version. I deleted the other 2 :) #13 < > Showing 1-13 of 13 comments Per page: 1530 50 RimWorld > General Discussions > Topic Details Date Posted: 11 Aug, 2021 @ 10:52amPosts: 13

However, I'm confused by this. Can you please make this easier for me to understand please. I am used to modding FO4 and Skyrim/SE. This is a whole new way for me to understand on how to mod. #2

It still has a yellow !. Does this mean that the works?
