Marshawn Lynch apparently wants to scratch that NFL itch again.

The running back said he would be open to coming out of “retirement” for a third time if he receives the right offer. Lynch, appearing on the television show “Conan” Wednesday, was asked if he would consider playing in the NFL again.

Lynch said playing again could become a reality “if the situation is right.”

Lynch, 34, hasn’t played in an NFL game since he played for the Seattle Seahawks in a divisional round playoff game in January. Despite the long layoff, Lynch said teams have contacted him about playing, and he said he would be interested only in signing with a Super Bowl contender.

“I’ve been asked the question by a couple teams here recently. Like, ‘Are you ready?’ I’m ready if you all are Super Bowl ready,’ “ Lynch said on “Conan.” “That’s what it would take me to come out, to come and play again. It would have to be a guaranteed Super Bowl game for me.”

Lynch knows there are no “guarantees” to reach a Super Bowl. However, if he feels that a team expressing interest has a legitimate shot at reaching Super Bowl 55, he might be willing to sign on.

Lynch originally retired in February 2016. However, he worked out a trade from the Seahawks to play for his hometown Oakland Raiders, where he stayed for two seasons before retiring again. He then signed with the Seahawks in December 2019 to play in one regular-season game and two playoff games.
