Career in Review
Highlights of 2024 season were winning the title at WTA 125 Bastad and quarterfinal appearances at Guadalajara and Jiujiang Opened 2023 by helping Italy finish R-Up at inaugural United Cup; won two of her singles matches (d. Sakkari and Helgo). Reached two WTA 1000 quarterfinals at Miami (l. Rybakina) and Guadalajara (l. Dolehide) and also made Hong Kong semifinal (l. Siniakova). Results pushed her ranking to a peak of No. 18 on May 8, 2023. Enjoyed memorable 2022 clay-court season, lifting maiden WTA title at Rabat (d. Liu in F) and then reaching SF at Roland Garros (l. Gauff) Reached 2r four times in 2021 (including at Roland Garros and US Open). Also finished R-Up at WTA 125K Series event at Karlsruhe and reached two further finals on ITF Circuit During the 2020 season, cracked the Top 100 for the first time and reached a career-high ranking of No.83 on October 12, 2020. Also posted career-best year-end ranking of No.85 - up from last year's No.153 finish Enjoyed breakthrough QF run at 2020 Roland Garros, where she overcame three rounds of qualifying and defeated Gauff, Sakkari and Bertens before falling to the eventual champion Swiatek Paris run marked first Tour-level QF of her career and her win over Bertens marked her career first Top-10 victory Kicked off the 2020 season with her Grand Slam main draw debut at the Australian Open, as a qualifier, falling to the eventual champion Kenin in the opening round Lifted ninth ITF singles title in 2019 at $25K ITF/Santa Margherita di Pula/ITA and reached an additional final in the same city two weeks later Competed in the main draw of a Premier-level event for the first time at 2019 Charleston (as qualifier, d. N.Kichenok in 1r, l. Bertens in 2r) Season highlights in 2018 were R-Up finishes on ITF Circuit at $60k Brescia-ITA and $25k Santa Margherita Di Pula-ITA. Also fell 1r at WTA tournaments at Gstaad (as qualifier, l. Kuzmova) and Moscow [River Cup] (as qualifier, l. Kozlova) and in qualifying at Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open In 2017, qualified for first WTA main draws at Gstaad and Bastad, falling 1r on both occasions.
