Mass Effect 3: Where To Find Dekuuna - Game Rant

Mass Effect 3 has a lot of optional side content that not only earns players extra reputation and experience points, but also helps to enrich the story of the concluding chapter to the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition trilogy.

Although a small part of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition's epic sci-fi tale, Shepard can choose to help the elcor diplomat found on the Citadel as part of the "Dekuuna: Elcor Extraction" mission. The diplomat wants Shepard to go to the elcor homeworld, Dekuuna, and extract its trapped survivors. This guide will help players find Dekuuna in Mass Effect 3, and complete the assignment worth 5 Reputation and 120 XP.

Where to Find Dekuuna in Mass Effect 3

Dekuuna can be found in the Phontes System of the Silean Nebula located on the left-hand side of the Galaxy Map. However, the elcor survivors are actually found by scanning Oltan, Dekuuna's moon. Get close to Dekuuna and scan the area to reveal Oltan, but be wary of the Reapers who will chase the Normandy if players scan too much.

Once Oltan has been located, scan the moon and launch a probe to rescue the Elcor Flotilla, gaining it as a War Asset in Mass Effect 3. Once this is achieved, travel back to the elcor diplomat on the Citadel to complete "Dekuuna: Elcor Extraction". There are no other assignments or priority missions that require players to return to the Phontes System.

The Elcor Flotilla could be earned as a War Asset without speaking with the elcor diplomat on the Citadel in the original version of the game. However, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition players must ensure they speak with the elcor diplomat in Mass Effect 3 before trying to find Dekuuna and Oltan.

"Elcor Extraction" is a fairly quick assignment to complete that earns players an easy 5 Reputation Points, so it is recommended to pick it up and complete it as soon as possible. Having a high Reputation in Mass Effect 3 can save the lives of multiple characters, and can even help make peace between the geth and the quarians.

It doesn't matter if players are doing a Renegade or Paragon playthrough, they must earn general Reputation points in order to pass skill checks needed to successfully use charm or intimidate dialogue options during key story moments. So players should ensure they complete a large chunk of assignments available before starting priority missions if they wish to get the best ending in Mass Effect 3.
