Hey! Looking for a nurse that can help me understand these results. My doctor and the test picture below shows girl, but the performance notes say “Y chromosome fetal sex - 99.4% accuracy”. What does that mean?

Hi! I’m not a nurse but I read somewhere else that the 99% accuracy for Y chromosomes means that the test its 99.4% accurate at detecting a Y chromosome if that chromosome was present in your blood. Again, not a nurse but hope that helps! LikeViolation ReportedReport as InappropriateGabby2016

Yep, you’re having a girl. The first shot is just the test sensitivity—basically, it’s 99.4% accurate at picking up Y chromosomes, if they’re there. The “Fetal Sex: consistent with female” is what you want to look at. LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriatellizaafaz@bwhuggebear83,

I actually ended up calling the genetic counselor and she called the company because she said it should’ve been in by now. Apparently the company messed up one of the batches of tests somehow and they had to redo it. They should have it finalized tomorrow. my chart says this. If they’re not in my chart, then the doctor doesn’t have them either. I think it’s just the company. It’s so frustrating though! I’m checking hourly.

did you have an ultrasound to confirm your test results were correct? I just got my results and have found another post where several people said they got wrong results.
